Kurt Seyit ve Şura TV series is about the love of Kurt Seyit Eminof, a Crimean Turkish soldier, and Alexandra Julianovna Verjenskaya, the daughter of a noble Russian family. Kurt Seyit ve Şura, an ambitious production with its budget, actors and venues, could not catch the expected ratings since the day it was published. 


Fahriye Evcen and Zerrin Tekindor were also included in the second season of the series, which could not catch the expected output in the first season, but the strengthening of the staff did not bring an increase in the ratings. The changes made in the scenario and the player reinforcements were not enough to save the series. Although Star TV management insistently stands behind the series, the series made the final with its 21st episode.

Synopsis of Kurt Seyit ve Şura 

In Kurt Seyit and Şura, the adventurous lives of two lovers in love, who are separated from their glorious life in Russia and drifted to Istanbul, are told. In a sense, the adventurous journeys of the Crimean Turkish first lieutenant Kurt Seyit and the beautiful daughter of the noble Russian family, Şura, from the days of their reign to the Carpathian front, from the riots to the fire of the revolution, from Alushta to occupied Istanbul, to Pera of the 1920s. is the journey of love.


Şura, who came to Petrograd (St. Petersburg) with her older sister Valentina for her father Julien's illness, met Kurt Seyit, a Crimean Turkish noble officer, at the first ball she attended. Kurt Seyit is the former comrade of the Borinskis' son Petro, the partner of Shura's father. Because of a secret that only Kurt Seyit knows, Petro has just left the army and started business with his father. This secret also overshadowed the friendship of Petro and Seyit. Having fun at the ball with his close military friends Celil, Mişa and Vilademir, Seyit is struck from the first moment he sees Şura and cannot get it out of his mind afterwards.


Realizing that Seyit is in love with Şura, Petro's secret enmity grows over time. will continue to strive. His love for Seyit grows and matures Şura. It transforms her over time from a little girl to a passionate, confident woman capable of tackling challenges. Seyit's father, Mirza Mehmet Eminof, does not want to take Şura into his family as a bride, despite her beauty and nobility. He stipulates that his son Seyit should marry a Turkish girl in accordance with his traditions. Seyit was defeated in the war against his undefeated family. 


But still, Seyit does not let Shura's hand go, even at the expense of his father, whom he respects to death. Seyit's presence in Crimea puts his family in a difficult situation due to the new conditions in the country. In order not to endanger his family, Seyit puts himself at risk and sets out for Istanbul with a very difficult journey, with a torment of conscience for what he left behind. A different struggle awaits him in occupied Istanbul. While building a brand new life, what they left behind will always be an obstacle in front of them.


Kurt Seyit ve Şura Filming Location

The first episode of the TV series "Kurt Seyit ve Şura", adapted from Nermin Bezmen's novel of the same name, began shooting in Kartepe, Russia's St. He continued in St. Petersburg. After the release of the first episode of the series, costumes, venues and city images were talked about a lot. The capital of Tsarist Russia, St. Petersburg's buildings used as museums today; It was the decor of "Kurt Seyit and Şura". 25 venues in the city were used as sets in order to reflect the spirit of the period when art and culture occupied a large place in daily life. 


In the shots taken outdoors that reflect the magnificence of the period; Zayachi Island, known as the famous Palace Square and Rabbit Island, and touristic squares were inhabited. The frozen Neva River was reflected on the whole screen in the shootings performed by the crew of 200 people at minus 27 degrees. The place used as Kurt Seyit's home was the Vavilov Plant Breeding Research Institute. The venue, which was built in 1899; Summer house of the Tsar's brother (Boris Vladimirovich Romanov).


The ballet scene shot on the giant stage of the historical Aleksandrinskiy Theater was also among the episodes watched with admiration. Approximately 150 extras, 11 ballerinas and choreographers took part in this scene. The 34-member orchestra accompanied the dancers. The ball scenes of the series took place in the Marble Palace, where 32 different types of marble were used. The shooting of the prom scenes was completed in four days. To the team; Two dance teachers and a choreographer helped. Seyit; Shura, Petro, Valentina, Celil and Tatya and St. Tourist squares were closed to traffic for his tour in St. Petersburg.


The set of the series was later moved to Istanbul, and the production team carried out months of research to reflect the war years of the period. The old Sewing House belonging to Haydarpaşa Railways was chosen as the place where Kurt Seyit, who was injured in the 1st World War Carpathians Front, was treated. In the scenes in which approximately 200 extras took part, a special scar make-up was applied to each extra. "Kurt Seyit and Şura" team, who transformed Haydarpaşa Sewing House into a hospital of 1916, specially produced many details such as 200 beds and 50 stretchers that reflect the period exactly. To reflect the cold climate of Russia, an area of 1000 m2 was completely covered with artificial snow.


Kurt Seyit ve Şura series started on Star TV on March 4, 2014. The series, which was planned to last at least 26 episodes in the first stage and whose overseas sales were made accordingly, ended with its 21st episode broadcast on November 20, 2014, on the grounds that it did not receive a rating.
